Established in 2006, Really Simple Systems is one of the world’s largest providers of Cloud CRM systems, with offices in the UK and Australia and customers spread globally.
Really Simple Systems promotes a philosophy based upon taking complex applications and then making them easy and affordable. Really Simple Systems CRM is designed for small and mid-sized businesses operating B2B and wanting a simple, easy to use online CRM for sales, support and marketing. The hosted CRM model is great for companies with multiple locations and a remote workforce.
Customers range from single users through to 200 user systems. These include the Red Cross, the Royal Academy of Arts, government agencies and the NHS. But most importantly, are the thousands of small and mid-sized organizations making up the core of the company’s customer base.

It’s easy to see why this award-winning CRM is so popular; the UI is very intuitive and you can quickly find your way around the features and get set up. It comes shipped with some demo data that illustrates how things should look once you’ve added your own, which can be easily removed once you’ve got the hang of it. What’s really useful is the in-product support resources – each page includes a pull-out drawer with hints and tips, a short video demonstrating how to use the feature, and a link through to the full support pages. All the support information has been written so it’s simple to understand with no technical jargon.
Another plus is the availability of live webinars each week that help get you up to speed quickly and explain some of the finer points of the CRM.
In analysing Really Simple Systems’ customer reviews, many have commented on how easy it is to customize the CRM, adding additional fields, changing the screen layouts, creating custom dashboards, for example. They say they have been able to set the system up just as they would like it, without compromising their internal processes.
What’s also worth noting are the built-in report writers included in the system. Not all CRM systems in the same price bracket offer reporting as standard, so the Really Simple Systems offering is quite exceptional. You can create Listing Reports for ad-hoc reporting on all elements of the CRM data as well as Forecast Reports for sales. The Enterprise plan goes further to include advanced reporting features that give additional functionality such as subtotalling, summarising, and run-time date options.
The Custom Charts are neat too. Here you can create your own dashboard widgets to monitor your CRM activity across a wide selection of data options and custom fields. They might be shown as pie charts, line charts, bar charts, gauges or numbers and provide instant insight of what’s important to you.
The integrated marketing add-on is a big bonus for the CRM, letting you segment your contact base, create emails and run campaigns directly from the CRM. The campaign data is sync’d back to the contact record so you can view engagement levels for each contact and report on the campaign data.
What really creates the differential for Really Simple Systems is its customer support. Not only is the team pro-active when onboarding new customers but this support is on-going throughout the customer life cycle. Support is available for all customers, including those on the Free plan, and includes online chat, email and telephone support (Professional and Enterprise plans). The team is very responsive and seems to go the extra mile to make sure customers are getting the most from the CRM.

The no-commitment, monthly pricing starts at $18 per user per month for the Starter plan, and the annually billed plan starts at $14 per user per month. The marketing module starts at $22 per month on the annual plan. The full CRM Enterprise plan starts at $46 per user per month, billed annually, and if you have 5 or more users the marketing plan is included free of charge.
