Kapow Katalyst™ provides an agile and practical way to deliver Big Data integration solutions. Katalyst supports a variety of data sources – ranging from structured to unstructured – residing in databases, standard APIs, file and email systems, web applications, on-premise and cloud applications, and content management systems.

The main components of Katalyst are Design Studio, used to create integration workflows (also known as robots); Management Console, used to deploy workflows, manage, schedule, and monitor the environment; and Roboservers, the cluster-ready 24/7 environment where workflows are run.
Build Workflows with Kapow Katalyst Design Studio
Kapow Katalyst Design Studio is a visual, fully integrated development environment (IDE). It combines the real-time visual paradigm of a web browser with an intuitive visual flow editor. You easily build integration workflows by navigating an application or data source as you would in a web browser, excel spreadsheet or by using the powerful XML editor.

As Design Studio works with live data, you can instantly verify that the data is formatted correctly and business rules are applied properly.
Publish & Govern with Katalyst Management Console
Once built, integration workflows are uploaded to the Kapow Katalyst Management Console. From here, you can schedule them for batch or on-demand execution or publish them directly to your business user as Kapplets. To optimize performance and deliver data faster to the business user, you can compose Kapplets to run multiple workflows in parallel.
The Management Console governs the functions of the Kapow Enterprise platform. Role-based administration allows secure, granular control over integration projects, access rights, and viewing of workflow results. Administrators can define user access to Kapplets using LDAP or Active Directory. The Management Console also deploys workflows as REST/SOAP web services, workflows for integration with data endpoints such as documents, email, SQL and Hadoop databases, and it automatically creates the APIs needed to be consumed by, Java, .NET, or BI tools.
Once built, workflows are uploaded to a shared repository in the Management Console. From here, they can be scheduled for batch-execution on the RoboServer or executed on-demand via an automatically generated REST service.
Scalable, Robust Environment
The Roboserver operational environment can be easily configured for optimal performance and scalability. A stateless, multi-threaded architecture enables enterprises to easily scale their on-premise, cloud or virtual deployments to meet business data needs. When a new roboserver is added to a roboserver cluster, it automatically inherits the settings of that cluster, making it very easy to add new roboservers to the production environment.
Multiple robots can be executed sequentially or concurrently to optimize performance. Kapplets can also be composed of multiple robots which can be executed concurrently when the Kapplet is run.
RoboServer has a secure API, supporting authentication and SSL. In addition, security settings for managing file system access on roboservers prevent unauthorized access to production server local file systems and commands.
